Story

Pattern Library_v3-11.png

It emerged in the times when it was almost impossible to bring artists together for fusing different art forms and it could happen at a platform that made it possible through an online event. Two artists with years of experience and expertise in carrying out folk traditions of creativity and distinct art styles across different continents with entirely different cultural backgrounds wished they had a medium that could help them unite to create and experiment with new styles through fusion for telling their folk stories. This desire of connecting with artists was made possible through a festival, “FolkLog International Festival” hosted by FolkLog where diverse cultures united with their folk stories.

“FLIF”

stands for Folk Log International Festival which is a culmination of FolkConnect Fellowship.

We are a platform that enables artists across India’s diverse cultures and other countries to come together to perform, create, and form a strong, stable, and unique relationship amongst their art of storytelling.

We hold the characteristics of a storyteller who is influenced by various diverse cultures of storytelling across the world. We love to experiment, collaborate, express, innovate, interact and give a boost to unique artistic ways of storytelling in the contemporary world.

Logo Design

Process

One of the crucial tasks was to create a face representing the brand, which required applying previous exercises and establishments into creating a logo. Before initiating this task I jumped here and there from one place to another to create and build insipration for my logo creation of FLIF brand. The approach to the logo with initials of the brand name “Folk Log International Festival” was solely decided by the company.

Visual

Elements

To create these visual elements, it was required to dive into the stories and art forms of the artists. As it was a cross-cultural connection these artforms were fused together to create a new visual element. It was challenging to show fusing elements of different cultures but visual-heavy artforms were overpowering with the infusion of artistic elements of other art forms.

" It's a WRAP! "

This project was my Major Design Project which was a rollercoaster experience. I learned to work in alignment with my skills. At every point during the project, I was exposed to novel opportunities where I challenged myself to work relentlessly. It was indeed a mind-boggling experience that tested every bit, and I'm contented with the way it has come out.

I got the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, express, innovate, interact and give a boost to unique artistic ways of storytelling in the contemporary world. Being a part of the team I was able to recognize, support, and respect artists and their artforms; and most importantly to have FUN!
